Today, I\u2019ll share how to make both\u00a0<strong style=\"font-style: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; background: transparent;\">fried falafel and baked falafel.\u00a0<\/strong>You choose your favorite!<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201c*Note: While this recipe is gluten-free and all falafel I\u2019ve had overseas have been made with gluten-free ingredients, always double check the flour used and if there\u2019s cross-contamination with the oil.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Are you ready for the best falafel you\u2019ve ever tasted? I\u2019ve had my fair share of falafel on travels through Egypt, Israel and Jordan. I\u2019ve had them in restaurants and on street corners (about as authentic as they come). I\u2019ve had them stuffed in gluten-free pita and on salads. And I\u2019ve had them with slight variations and tweaks, though the recipe itself is fairly simple.<\/p>\n<p>But after eating my way through Tel Aviv last year, I realized what makes the best falafel. And here\u2019s the answer: tons of herbs (double the normal amount) and a small amount of green pepper. This makes for an addictive flavor that\u2019s \u201ca little something extra\u201d but not spicy. The mixture is then formed into balls or patties and deep fried for a texture that\u2019s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, sort of like a fritter. It\u2019s a classic Middle Eastern and Mediterranean recipe that\u2019s enjoyed as street food and often served up as part of mezze (a group of small meals).<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 28px; vertical-align: baseline; margin-top: 35px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; text-transform: uppercase; line-height: 1.1; color: #1a1a1c;\"><strong style=\"font-style: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; background: transparent;\">FALAFEL INGREDIENTS<\/strong><\/h2>\n<div>\n<p style=\"font-size: 17px; font-weight: 400; vertical-align: baseline; margin-top: 20px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; color: #535355; text-transform: none;\">Falafel are naturally gluten-free and made from a few simple ingredients.
